Welcome to the brand new Keheley Foundation Comet Clubs! We are excited to bring a variety of Keheley teacher-led, after-school enrichment programs, for your student to participate in. Comet Clubs are different than other after school clubs, as we offer the unique experience for Keheley staff to be the instructors! A portion of the class cost goes back to Keheley Foundation and Keheley Elementary School, and the rest is paid to the Comet Club instructor. A win-win for everyone!!

Spring semester will be 10-weeks with all classes beginning the week of January 29, 2024

 Monday Classes – start: January 29th, end April 29th

Wednesday Classes – start: January 31st, end April 17th

    Blockheads!

    Instructors: Sarah Dupuis

    Cost: $175

    Grades 1st – 5th (Mon)

    Class Maximum: 24 students

    Join us for another fun semester of Minecrafting! We will have all new challenges each week along with student led activities. Do you know how to do something that you think other students want to learn? You can be the leader and teach us all something new! On Minecraft Education, we use a desktop to play; it’s somewhat different than the devices we use at home and has different capabilities, but it’s all fun and we all work together to create new things each week!

  • Creative Comets Club

    Instructor: Lori McDonald

    Cost: $175

    Grades: 3rd – 5th (Mon.)

    Class Maximum: 10 students

    Let's get together and make something! This club will allow you to try your hand at creating several hand-crafted items. You will learn some basics of cross-stitch, sewing and crochet and by the end of the 10 weeks, you will have some beautiful items. Join me as we create memories, friendships and learn some new skills.

    Swifties Evermore

    Instructors: Amy Germano & Krista Schmitz

    Cost: $190

    Grades: K – 5th (Mon)

    Class Maximum: 30 students

    It's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me...we're in our Swiftie Era! There's no Bad Blood here - if you are a Lover of all things Taylor and want to be part of the ultimate fandom group Forever and Always, this club is for you! Join us each week to design concert costumes and merch, learn choreography and dances from The Eras Tour, make friendship bracelets, pick and contribute to a humanitarian cause in our community, and just have fun singing along! We can't wait to do all the Swiftie things with you! Price includes a club shirt and snack at each meeting.

  • Kickin' It Around with Mr. Brown

    Instructors: William Brown

    Cost: $170

    Grades: 1st - 3rd (Wed.) (Class Maximum: 22 students )

    3rd - 5th (Thurs.) (Class Maximum: 26 students )

    Kickin' It Around with Brown will be the club your kid won't stop talking about! This club will give your child the opportunity to learn many different outdoor games, work on building social skills, and have a blast while getting great exercise! Your child will learn to play multiple sports and outdoor games such as kickball, capture the flag, soccer, and others. Price includes: necessary equipment and an awesome Club T-Shirt, and a quick snack each week before we start playing.

    Art Academy

    Grades: 2nd-5th

    Class Maximum: 24 students

    Calling all young tech enthusiasts! Join the Future Innovators Club for an adventure in robotics, coding, digital art, video editing, typing skills, and more! No experience needed – just bring your curiosity and excitement! Let's explore, create, and have a blast as we dive into the world of technology!

    Love building with Legos?! Then join Mrs. Dupuis and Mrs. Hrach for loads of fun. Each week we’ll focus on cool projects and building challenges offering opportunities to build confidence, encourage creativity, and work as a team. We look forward to building with your children!   • Wizarding World of Harry Potter 5

    Instructor: Katie Biello

    Cost: $200

    Grades: 3rd – 5th (Wed.)

    Class Maximum: 24 students

    Welcome to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! This semester we will focus in the 5th book -Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. We will not watch the movie, but we will watch clips of exciting scenes that go with our activity of the week. Each Harry Potter Club member will be sorted into a Hogwarts House on the first day in a fun sorting ceremony. Every week we will make Harry Potter-themed crafts, play games, or other activities -think character snow globes, science experiments, and house competitions! I can’t wait to see some new wizards this semester! Price includes a club shirt and a snack for each meeting.

Registration for classes will open on Monday, August 14th at 8:00pm. and close Wednesday, August 23rd at 8:00 p.m.


Classes will fill up quickly, so please register early! There will be no late registration accepted.

  • Registration is open for 10 days only. Please register during this period as there is no late registration accepted.

  • You will need to create an account at www.pay4schoolstuff.com to register your student for all Comet Clubs. Payment will be made online only.

  • All Comet Club students must be registered for Keheley’s After School Program (ASP) https://www.cobbk12.org/keheley/page/2925/after-school-program. Completed paperwork, along with a yearly $20 ASP registration fee is required prior to participating in all Comet Clubs. ASP registration can be found https://cobbk12.ce.eleyo.com/.  Emergencies and unforeseen delays may occur, and your child needs a backup plan if you are unexpectedly unable to pick them up on time. To avoid registration fees, do not submit credit card information, but continue to complete registration.

  • All class details for Comet Clubs will be available on the Foundation website and sent home.

  • Once registration is completed, there is a no-cancellation policy. If you decide to not send your child to the registered class, you will not receive a refund. 

  • Once registration is completed, students will not be allowed to switch classes

Pick-Up Guidelines

  • If a parent is more than 10 minutes late for pick-up, their student will be sent to ASP and they will be charged the $10.00 daily ASP rate.

  • Parents will pick-up Comet Clubs students from their dismissal locations. Locations will be emailed before the first session.

  • Parents must park and walk to the dismissal location to sign their students out with their Comet Club teacher.   

  • Parents should be prepared to show a photo ID.

Transportation Change Guidelines

A transportation change note is only necessary if:

  •   In ParentVue, under student information, then dismissal changes, select the dates your child will attend club and change their transportation online.

  •   If you child is going to ASP after the club, please write “ASP” in the “Notes” section, so teachers are aware.

  • If you have a change in transportation and your child will not attend club on their assigned day, please log into ParentVue by 1:45pm to make the change.

  • Teachers will send students home based on your selection in ParentVue.

Behavior Guidelines


The same behavior expectations apply in Comet Clubs as during the regular school day.  All Cobb County School District policies in the student handbook apply to each student and Comet Club. Inappropriate behavior will result in the child’s withdrawal from Comet Clubs. A refund will not be given. Students will only be withdrawn from Comet Clubs after two warnings/communication with parents based on discipline as defined by the CCSD student handbook. Comet Club instructors will contact parents regarding behavior.

Inclement Weather Guidelines 


If the school closes for inclement weather during the school day, all afternoon Comet Clubs will be cancelled. There will be NO make-up classes or refunds for weather cancellations.


FAQs

What are Keheley Comet Clubs?
Comet Clubs, are teacher-led enrichment program offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school. All classes are taught by our own Keheley teacher. A portion of the class cost goes back to The Keheley Foundation and Keheley Elementary School. These funds help support learning initiatives and community programs throughout the school year. The remaining funds are paid to the Comet Club instructor.

How do I register for a Comet Club?
During open registration, please go to Pay4SchoolStuff.com to register for Comet Clubs. View the Pay4SchoolStuff.com parent guide.

When do I register for a Comet Club?
At the beginning of the school year for Fall classes. In December/January, for Spring classes. Registration is open for 10 days during each period. Reminder emails from the school will be sent throughout the week. Classes sell out quickly.

Help, I thought I registered for a class, but I didn't receive a confirmation email from Pay4SchoolStuff.com. What do I do?
If you don't receive an email immediately from Pay4SchoolStuff.com, you are not registered for the class. Please check your junk mailbox of the email you provided to Pay4SchoolStuff.com. If it is not there, try registering again. The website does not accept American Express.

After registration is closed, may I register for a class?
Unfortunately, no. We have many classes and students to accommodate with proper lists and dismissal instructions. In order to prepare for the next session, we must adhere to a strict closing date. 

After registration is closed, may I switch Comet Clubs?
Unfortunately, no. We have many classes and students to accommodate with proper lists and dismissal instructions. In order to prepare for the next session, we must adhere to a strict closing date. 

After classes begin, may my child be added to a class?
No. Classes and classes rosters are closed after registration closes.

If my child is staying for a Comet Club, do I need to pack a snack for them?
Some clubs will offer a snack, but it is a good idea to also pack an after school snack.

When may my Kindergartener sign up for a Comet Club?
Comet Clubs are available starting second semester (Spring Session) for Kindergarteners.

How many Comet Clubs may my child sign up for?
As many as you would like.

Where do I pick my child up from Comet Clubs?
Your Comet Club teacehr will email a welcome email to you with dismissal location and information prior to the first session.

School was closed for Inclement weather, will there be a make-up class for the missed Comet Club?
There is one opportunity for a make-up class; however, make up due to inclement weather is not guaranteed.
